Congratulations! You have installed TronMe - welcome aboard!
TronMe is your passport to creating music your way. It is a fully interactive experience in which you take control of your favourite music tracks. You are about to get the chance to remix your own version of the music using a simple click of the mouse.
There are three ways in which you can personalize your music. The first is to download a track in the full interactive format. This is the most interactive experience you can have! In full IVS format all the different elements of the song are broken down so that you can play and rebuild it to your heart’s content. You can also download tracks in basic IVS that allow you to loop inside parts of the track and you can rebuild the song in this way. Finally, you can convert your own mp3 in basic IVS format for free and there are lots of visual effects available to you to make your video look just right. Don't forget you can control the music by movements on your webcam so don't just sit there! Dance, jump, move and make your video look as good as the music sounds!!!
Once you are happy with your remix you can share your video with the world. You can broadcast live on Live Messenger, Skype and Mogolus or you can record as an .avi or .mp3 and post your track onto youtube! Who knows, fame could be just around the corner!
But that's not all! You can also get a widget code from the TronMe menu that you can insert on your Myspace or Facebook page. This will display a vote button to your visitors and your points will increase every time someone registers a vote by pressing the button. The more votes you get, the higher your score goes and with a higher score comes free tools, songs and special effects!
If you don't want to share your performance of a track then, of course, you don't have to. You can still record your version as an .mp3 and load onto your .mp3 player just for your own pleasure. Don't forget that when you buy a song from the TronMe website you are then free to produce as many versions of that song as you wish. It is yours to play around with for as long as you want and, of course, the revenue from the sale of the track will be shared with the artist and writer of the music.
Every week new tools and tracks will be loaded in your player for you to try for free, so come back weekly to make sure you get the most out of TronMe.
- So the only decision you have to make now is which song you are going to remix first! Have fun and enjoy TronMe. We can't wait to see what you create!
The process of conversion is simple. After installation, the software will'list all of the mp3 tracks on each user's PC and will provide notice if other users already found interesting loops in a particular song. Therefore, users can decide to use the same loops for their tracks with the TronMe player.' If the user subscribes with a small monthly fee (less than 2' per month) he can use'all of these along with plenty of new versions uploaded daily.
The player'can also be used for free!' To do this a user'needs to'convert his own tracks'into the'interactive format and publish the position of the seamless loops he found in his tracks for other users'to try and vote for.
The most common scenario, as the library starts to grow, will be that the interactive track does not already appear on the TronMe server. In this case, users will be asked to go ahead and convert the music by clicking on the icon next to the title of the song. This will open a new interface, like that of a wave editor, where the bars and measures of the track will be visible. The goal now is to detect a seamless loop within the music that can be successfully sampled. A seamless loop must have a clean start and finish it must not have any unexpected noises to detract from the loop itself. The software does help in finding the loops they are often found in measures 2,4,6,8 and 16.
Once the user is happy with the result, loop positions can then be submitted and published on the TronMe server. The player is then able to create remixes of this track for free. The new version'is made available for other users to use. On the beta version of TronMe only one solution of each track is available however; soon, there will be up to ten versions of each track. 3D Solar exists to provide a place where people can collectively determine the value of each version. These ten will be split into two halves. The top five will be permanently on the site, ranked by the votes they received. Once something new is submitted, other people will see it and vote for the version they like best. If a user's submission is excellent and receives enough votes, it is promoted to the top five.
It goes without saying that the first users to convert the most popular tracks will reap the benefits; each time the track is used the user who converted it will receive 'Trons' and these will be divided proportionally between those who converted the top five versions of that track. The more Trons a user receives, the higher his score, and with a higher score comes free tools, special effects and songs!
- So the only decision you have to make now is which song you are going to convert first! Have fun and enjoy TronMe. We can't wait to see what you create!
First select your MP3 music directory by a simple click on the [+] icon at the bottom right of the window (see image below inside the red mark)
After few seconds you should see your first MP3, only tracks listed at MusicBrainz.org will be available, the full indexing process could take up to few minutes.
You can also sort tracks by Name, Artist, Time, Album with a simple click on the column header.
Now you can double click on the track name to open the loop editor.
The TronMe player must identify your mp3 track before you can see it in your TronMe editor list. In order to identify a track we send it to 'MusicBrainz', a database of 10 million tracks. It is possible that your track is not listed on this database and, in this instance, you will be invited to add it to MusicBrainz.
We are also aware of a current bug in the system that stops some tracks being identified even when the track is listed on the MusicBrainz database. We are currently working to fix this bug of TronMe beta 2.60 and will soon be able to eliminate the problem.
Right after the double click on your track the loop editor should open (see below), after a few seconds you should see the graphical representation of your track. The first time your track will be without loops. Now we will find and add your first loop. First, to start a loop, you just need to click with your mouse in the graph and drag to your left or your right to define the start and end of your loop. That's it, your first loop has been created but of course it will not sound good yet, you will have to adjust the duration and position. So when your loop has been created you can click on the loop to select it and drag it left or right to change the position. Each time you change the position of the loop or click on it the loop it will start to play, another click and it will stop
You can edit your loop by positioning your mouse on top of the start or end bar and dragging it to extend or reduce the loop duration. Each time you change the start, the end or the position of the loop it will start to play in a special mode so you can check very rapidly if the loop is still playing well. This special mode will start to play 2 seconds before the end of the loop so you can listen to the transition without waiting for the full loop to play.
When you edit a loop by dragging the start or stop bar it will auto glue to measure bars or even find the best position automatically, but you can take full control of the position by pressing the key "Ctrl" on your keyboard while adjusting the bar position.
To zoom in or out you can simply done using the mouse wheel or the "O" key to zoom in or the "P" key to zoom out.
When you are happy with all your loops you can close the editor. It will auto save your loops for that track. In your mp3 library the icon in front of your track will now have changed from a single green music note to a double blue note. This indicates that you have already edited this track and added loops.
Now to publish. Simply highlight the track name with a single click and press the publish button (see image below inside the red mark) at the bottom left of the mp3 library window. You will then be asked to accept the transfer of copyright agreement before your .ivs file is sent to our server.

Since you have published an interactive mp3 you are now allowed to use it for free, after few seconds you will receive your new .ivs file from our server to play with your own mp3 track.
To play the track go to the Interactive mp3 list in the tronme player (not in the mp3 music library) by a simple click on the first icon, see the image below inside the red mark.
The list of your ivs files will be displayed, then you will see again the 3 dots icon in front of each track if it's grey means your mp3 is not found on your computer or it has been modified
To play the track just click on it, if your track has multiple interactive versions from different users you will see a small + symbol close to the track name, just click on it to expand the list and see all available versions, you will be able to sort them. By default, the first one will be played if you click directly on the track name, otherwise you can click directly on an other version. There will be up to ten versions of each track. We're here to provide a place where people can collectively determine the value of each version. These ten will be split into two halves. The top five will be permanently on the site ranked by the votes they received. Once something new is submitted, other people will see it and vote for the version they like best by sorting up or down the versions in the list. If the submission rocks and receives enough votes, it is promoted to the top 5.
The TronMe player has an 'Autoplay' function. If your player is open but does not detect any activity for few seconds then 'Autoplay' will activate automatically. It will create a playlist from the tracks in your library and will remix them based on your webcam activity. You can sit back and relax, carry on working or even get up and dance and TronMe will remix your tracks from your movements, your position and other information that it can detect. You will see that the 'Autoplay' icon is lit up when your player is in 'Autoplay' mode.
You can opt out of autoplay at any time. You can take control by just moving your mouse on top of the video and clicking on the loop symbol in the track or on one of the instruments slots in the full interactive songs section.
Usually if you see the default TronMe image of the girl and it is alternating with the webcam's view every 10 seconds this problem is a result of poor lighting conditions such as low light or side lighting. Your position in front of the camera will also affect TronMe's ability to track your face and display Tools. (To fix it see examples below)
Very good
Good
Bad
Very bad
If you can only see the default TronMe image of the girl and it is not alternating with the webcam's view every 10 seconds then right click on the TronMe task bar icon and select properties. Ensure that your real webcam has been properly selected.
If TronMe still doesn't track your face, try closing and restarting the program.
TronMe can feed your video to several applications at the same time. You can, for example, use your TronMe in Yahoo's instant messaging service and in MSN Messenger's chat at the same time. Simultaneously, you could be using a third program to capture the video to disk. TronMe can be used like a free cam splitter.
TronMe relies on DirectX technology and not Video for Windows (VFW) which Microsoft considers obsolete and replaced by DirectShow and then Windows Media. Some applications like ICQ have not yet upgraded to DirectX so you just need to be patient and wait for your messenger program to upgrade.
Please try to install manually this beta version: TronMe 2.0 to fix the problem. Also you could have a problem registering the TronMe software if your firewall is not configured properly. The firewall is a system designed to prevent unautorized access to or from a private network. Also, the TronMe server could be down for maintenance so please try to login at a later time.
If the Tools is not correctly positioned on your face, you can reset the tracker by "wiping" your hand across your face.
